This Privacy Policy explains how SogoApp (“we”, “us”), developed by Sogo, collects, uses, and protects information when you use our mobile app. By using SogoApp you agree to this policy.

1. Information we collect

We collect only what is needed to provide the service:

• Account info — your phone number, display name, “about”, and profile photo.
• Contacts — with your permission, we match your phone contacts so you can find friends who use SogoApp.
• Messages & media — the messages, photos, videos and voice notes you send are transmitted through our servers to deliver them to the recipient.
• Calls — voice and video call audio/video streams (relayed to complete the call).
• Precise location — only when you actively use the “Live Location” feature inside a chat.
• Purchases — records of coin or wallet purchases you make.
• Device & diagnostics — app-installation identifiers, advertising ID (via analytics), crash logs, and basic usage analytics.

2. How we use your information

• To operate core features — messaging, calling, live streaming, status and live location.
• To create and secure your account and authenticate you via one-time password (OTP).
• To improve reliability and fix crashes (analytics & diagnostics).
• To prevent fraud, abuse, and to comply with legal obligations.

3. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. Messages and media are delivered to the recipients you choose. We use trusted service providers (such as cloud hosting, push notifications and analytics) that process data on our behalf under strict agreements. We may disclose information if required by law.

4. Security

All data is encrypted in transit using TLS, and calls use DTLS-SRTP encryption. We apply technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information.

5. Data retention & deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. You can delete your account and associated data at any time from Settings → Account → Delete Account, or by emailing us. See our Delete Account page for full details, including the 30-day grace period.

6. Children

SogoApp is intended for users aged 18 and over and is not directed to children.

7. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “last updated” date.
